Sony is looking to turn Days Gone into a movie

While the team behind Days Gone wanted to move straight onto a bigger and better sequel to the game, Sony passed, but that doesn't mean the company doesn't have future plans for the IP. While we aren't getting a Days Gone 2 soon, Sony has apparently begun exploring a movie adaptation.

Deadline reports that PlayStation Productions has begun working on adapting Days Gone into a feature film, with help from Sheldon Turner, an Oscar nominated writer who has previously worked on X-Men: First Class and Up in the Air.

Whether the film would stay true to the game, or go off in a different direction still remains to be seen. In the game, we follow Deacon St. John, a motorbike riding, shotgun wielding survivor attempting to find his wife in the middle of the zombie apocalypse.

The game sold well on both PlayStation and PC, but reviewers didn't rate it particularly highly. Ultimately, the director left Bend Studio after his pitch for a sequel was rejected.

KitGuru Says: Could a Days Gone movie work well? When you boil the story down to its core premise, it could translate well, but I wouldn't expect the film to take much inspiration from the game directly.
