Rockstar announces Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition

Following on from many leaks, Rockstar officially announced Grand Theft Auto:The Trilogy – Definitive Edition this week. The remastered collection is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles later this year, followed by new mobile-versions of these games in 2022.

The collection, which includes Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, will feature “across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements”.

We just have a short teaser trailer for now, and Rockstar has not announced a proper release date yet. However, the company has confirmed that it plans to release the trilogy in 2021 and more news should be coming later this month as part of GTA 3’s 20th anniversary.

Once the new trilogy remaster set rolls out, Rockstar will be removing the current versions of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas from all digital storefronts.
