Resident Evil Village gets story DLC and Re:Verse multiplayer mode this year

Last night during the Capcom Showcase, the publisher revealed the next major updates for Resident Evil Village. Not only is a story expansion on the way, but players will also soon have the option to play the game in third-person, and the delayed Re:Verse multiplayer mode is finally coming out.

The Winter's Expansion pack includes third-person mode for the game, as well as a new story DLC called ‘Shadows of Rose', which is played entirely in third-person. The new story content will see players taking on the role of Rose, Ethan's daughter, and will give players a peek at the events that take place after the Resident Evil Village campaign.

The DLC will be available on the 28th of October, and will be included with Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition, and available as a separate purchase for those who already own the base game. On that date, Re:Verse will also go live.

Re:Verse is a multiplayer deathmatch mode that was originally scheduled to release alongside Resident Evil Village as a free add-on for all owners of the game. However, after initial network tests, the mode was delayed indefinitely, only resurfacing this week at the Capcom showcase.
