Rainbow Six Siege revamps the new player experience with Operation New Blood

Ubisoft has officially announced the next Operation for Rainbow Six Siege. The long-running shooter will be getting new content as part of Operation New Blood, which will include two new Operators for the game, designed to be replacements for the ‘Recruit’ character.

In Rainbow Six Siege, new players often have to resort to the Recruit operator, as they have yet to unlock the full roster. With Operation New Blood, Ubisoft has designed two new ‘introductory’ operators. They won’t have any unique abilities like most other operators, but they will have a good range of gadgets and weapons, so you can adjust the loadout to suit multiple tactical situations.

With these new operators, Ubisoft is hoping to give new players a better experience as they dive in and begin learning the game. Alongside this, the developers are also adding a new training mode to the game called ‘Endless Drill', which is intended to help players ‘warm up' more effectively before jumping into online matches, or to help new players practise for lengthier periods of time.

Ubisoft has also doubled down on anti-cheat with protections to stop cheaters from being able to jump to multiple accounts to dodge in-game bans.

Operation New Blood is part of Rainbow Six Siege: Year 9 Season 2. A preview of all these changes will be available on the Public Test Server starting next week and should then roll out to all players in a few weeks time.
