Pokémon Legends Arceus is releasing in January 2022

Back in February, Game Freak and Nintendo announced the next major game in the Pokémon franchise – Pokémon Legends Arceus. We already knew that this was a game scheduled for 2022, but it looks like the game will be out much earlier in the year than expected.

Today, The Pokémon Company announced that Game Freak's ambitious open-world take on the series will be releasing on the 28th of January 2022, just three months after the remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, known as Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Both remakes are scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch on November 19th 2021.

On the surface, Pokémon Legends Arceus appears to be a dream game for fans of the series, as it will feature a true open world and seems to take inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Some features include open-world battles and you’ll be able to use stealth to try and catch Pokémon in the wild too.

The story is set in the Sinnoh region, but not as we remember it. This game is set in an older time period, before the land became heavily populated by humans. This leaves vast open areas for Pokémon to roam. As you may expect, we’ll be attempting to establish the Sinnoh region’s first Pokédex as we journey through the game.

KitGuru Says: Pokémon Legends Arceus looks interesting, but I'm hoping the next gameplay trailer will show smoother frame rates than the original reveal. Are many of you looking forward to this?
