PlayStation confirms ‘State of Play’ showcase this week

Just as rumours predicted, Sony is indeed holding its next State of Play stream this month, ahead of Summer Game Fest in June. The stream is taking place tomorrow, offering us a look at 14 upcoming titles for PS5 and PlayStation VR2, the latter of which will soon support PCs too.

State of Play returns tomorrow, 30th May, at 11PM UK time, or 12AM the following day for those in Europe. In the US, the timings are a bit friendlier, coming in at 6PM Eastern and 3PM Pacific.

The show is teased to last longer than 30 minutes, focusing on just over a dozen games coming to PlayStation platforms. One title we expect to see revealed is a new Astro Bot game built for PS5. After the console-focused showcase, we may also get confirmation that God of War: Ragnarök is coming to PC, as the game has been tipped for a PC launch later this year.

While Sony does not have any ‘pillar franchise' first-party games on the way this year, we should see some smaller titles. Astro Bot is one of them, but we're also due to get an Until Dawn remake later this year, and Sony tends to have a surprise or two at its shows from Japanese partners too.

KitGuru Says: Will you be tuning into State of Play later this week? Is there anything you are hoping to see announced? Personally, I'd like a reason to jump back into Spider-Man 2.
