Platinum is making a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game

Platinum Games has been taking on a lot of licensed projects recently. While its Legend of Korra game didn't turn out quite as well as some may have hoped, the studio's most recent effort, Transformers Devastation, was fantastic and now Platinum has revealed that it has a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game in the works for this year.

The game is officially titled ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan' and judging by the trailer, things are looking good so far, with a cell-shaded art style and co-op battle system.

We don't know how closely this game will tie into the upcoming TMNT movie or if it will at all but the two projects will share a villain in the form of Bebop. Shredder and Krang will also be making an appearance in the game according to the trailer description:

“Battle alongside your brothers through the sewers, subways, and streets of NYC to take down Shredder and Krang's evil organization, Foot by Foot. Unleash custom combat skills and powerful team combos to save Manhattan from the overwhelming dark forces growing in the shadows.”

KitGuru Says: As a fan of the spectacle fighter genre and the old TMNT cartoons myself, I'll be looking forward to this one- especially after Platinum Games delivered with Transformers Devastation. What do you guys think of this announcement?

  1. Production design is looking good, voice-overs sound great: colour me intrigued.

    Devastation was not fantastic.

Extremely poor resolution support on PC is inexcusable. No support for 16:10 resolutions and no support for anything between 1920×1080 and 4K. Pathetic.
