Overwatch 2 beta re-opens this month

At the Xbox Games Showcase a few days ago, Blizzard announced that Overwatch 2 would launch in early access on PC and Xbox Series X/S in October, but there will still be more beta tests taking place before then. Ahead of tomorrow's Overwatch 2 stream, Blizzard has announced that the next beta will begin later this month.

Blizzard held the first Overwatch 2 beta test back in April, and the servers were left up for around a month. You'll have the opportunity to play again with new updates in place starting on the 28th of June. Unfortunately, having an invite to the first beta doesn't appear to guarantee you access to the second beta, so you may need to await a fresh invite from Blizzard.

Blizzard will reveal more details on sign-ups and invites for the next beta test during a stream taking place tomorrow, the 16th of June. In a few months time, on the 4th of October, the game will be free to play in early access on Xbox Series X/S and PC, without any need for an invitation or purchase.

The next Overwatch 2 beta will likely contain the same amount of content as the first beta test. When the game launches in early access later this year, a new hero will also be added to the roster- Junker Queen, who will be fully unveiled tomorrow.

KitGuru Says: The first beta for Overwatch 2 had some balancing issues and matches could often feel uncompetitive very quickly, but hopefully this next beta release will have more of that ironed out.
