No Man’s Sky gets yet another massive overhaul with ‘Worlds’ update

No Man's Sky is well known at this point for having the greatest comeback story in videogame history. At this stage, not only has Hello Games delivered on all of its promises for the game prior to its rocky day-one release, but it has also gone above and beyond with new content, all without charging any extra for DLC. Somehow, the studio is still going, with another massive update on the way this year.

No Man's Sky: Worlds is a two-part update, with Part 1 being revealed today. In this first update, players can expect a complete planetary overhaul, with new dynamic weather systems, more detailed graphics, random weather events like lava sparks, rolling fog, rain and blizzards, new biomes, new creatures that can be tamed as pets/mounts and a big new expedition mission inspired by Starship Troopers.

Sean Murray presented a deep dive into the update on the Hello Games YouTube channel, which you can find above.

This all comes as a big surprise, as Hello Games had announced its next game, a survival game called ‘Light No Fire'. Given that Hello Games is an independent studio, many assumed that major updates to No Man's Sky were coming to an end, but that is not the case. We don't have a release date for the second part of this major update, but we should learn more in the months ahead.
