Nintendo Switch 2 predicted for June launch

While Nintendo is currently keeping quiet about its Switch 2 launch date, a former Nintendo of America sales and retail employee has publicly revealed their prediction for a June launch.

Going by the name ‘Sean', this ex-Nintendo sales worker spoke on the Kit and Krista podcast (via VGC) to spill some of the beans about Nintendo's sales strategy. According to them, Nintendo will be eyeing up a Summer launch for the Switch 2, meaning the console could be in the hands of gamers within months of the company's planned Nintendo Direct showcase in April.

More specifically, Nintendo could be eyeing up a June launch date, getting the console out well ahead of the holiday season rush and laying the groundwork for some big end-of-year exclusives.

With all of that said, retailers do not have ‘advance knowledge' of the Switch 2 launch date, but Nintendo will likely inform them weeks ahead of launch. As for price tag, while others have speculated a more palatable $299 or $399 launch price, this former Nintendo employee anticipates a price tag as high as $450.

We recently published an extensive piece on one of the Switch 2's anticipated features – Mouse Mode, allowing the Joy-Cons to be used like a PC mouse for more accurate tracking.
