Xenoblade Chronicles 3 could be announced at Nintendo Direct this month

Just a few weeks ago, rumours around Xenoblade Chronicles 3 began to swirl, with some sources claiming that the game will even be announced during a Nintendo Direct this year. According to new reports this week, there will be a Nintendo Direct stream this week, and there is some evidence that it will take place on the 8th of September.

According to known leaker ‘Zippo', Nintendo will be holding a Direct stream “within the next two weeks”, focussing on titles releasing before the end of this year, while also giving a sneak peek at what's to come in 2022.

Monolith Soft, the studio behind Xenoblade Chronicles, has also announced that the company's website will be down for maintenance on the 8th of September. Since Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is expected to be revealed soon, this could be taken as a sign that a Nintendo Direct will air that same week.

Nintendo has a big few months ahead for the Switch, with launches for Metroid Dread, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes, Shin Megami Tensei V and Super Mario Party Superstars all on the horizon.
