New Pokémon games to be announced next week

Game Freak wrapped up the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet generation with a pair of expansions last year. Now in just one week's time, The Pokémon Company will unveil its next projects.

The Pokémon Company has announced plans for a new Pokémon Presents stream, which will air on the 27th of February at 2PM UK time. While this stream won't only focus on games, this early year event has previously been used to announce new games, so we should expect to see at least one new videogame project, if not multiple.

With the expansions for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet releasing in 2023, we are primed for a new generation of Pokémon games and this might be exactly what Nintendo is hoping for to give the Nintendo Switch a proper send-off, as a new Nintendo console is reportedly on the way for 2025.

If a all-new generation of Pokémon aren't on the way, then we know that the series has no shortage of spin-off titles. We should also see updates for Pokémon Go as well as other mobile titles, as well as possible updates on the TCG and anime.
