MultiVersus season 1 will introduce new game modes and characters

MultiVersus has had a great reception since launching its open beta earlier this summer. The game's first season of content has unfortunately been delayed to later in the month, but the upside is that now it will pack more content, including new modes.

WB has given us a sneak peek at what to expect from MultiVersus during its first season. This includes a new arcade mode for casual and party play, a new ranked mode for competitive play, new cosmetics like profile icons, banners and new costumes for characters, as well as new fighters, starting off with Morty, who will be the game's 18th character.

Given how huge WB is and the amount of IP the company has access to, the possibilities are practically endless for future updates. Datamining already shows that the team is planning, or had plans for additional DC characters, classic cartoon characters like The Flinstones and Johnny Bravo, and film characters like Legolas from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and Neo from The Matrix.

MultiVersus is available now as a free to play game on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC. Each week, there is a set selection of free characters you can play with, which rotate out each week. Alternatively, you can pay to unlock characters permanently. The game's first season has been delayed and does not have a new launch date at this time, but the big update is still expected to arrive in August.

KitGuru Says: I have limited experience with Super Smash Bros. but to me, MultiVersus does seem like a decent alternative. Have many of you tried MultiVersus yet? What do you think of the game?
