Microsoft will be holding Xbox announcements every month for the rest of 2020

From now until the end of the year, Microsoft is running the Xbox 20/20 initiative, a transparent series of monthly updates on the status of upcoming games, next-gen announcements and updates for Game Pass, xCloud and more.

Starting with this week’s episode of Inside Xbox, we’ll be getting regular updates on new games coming to Xbox Series X. The first episode is focusing on third-party partner titles, but in July, Microsoft will be updating us on all of the exciting projects Xbox Game Studios are working on.

“For the Xbox 20/20 May update, we will focus on giving you a first look at next-gen gameplay, trailers and sneak peeks from a wide variety of publishing partners and independent developers across the globe and industry, including Ubisoft’s recently announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and hear from game creators about what they’re doing with their games on Xbox Series X.”

Other news will include confirmation on ‘Xbox Series X Optimised’ titles, which will be older games making the jump with up to 4K resolution and up to 120 frames per second. Smart Delivery supported games are also waiting to be announced.

July will be the most exciting update, focusing primarily on Xbox Game Studios teams. With that in mind, we should get our first look at Halo Infinite, as well as announcements for mystery projects in the works at studios like InXile, Obsidian, Double Fine, The Initiative, Playground Games etc.

KitGuru Says: Microsoft has been handling communication and updates very well in the midst of COVID-19. It is unfortunate that we won’t see Phil Spencer on stage at E3 this year, but we will still be getting a bunch of announcements every month until the end of this year. Will you be tuning in to the first Xbox 20/20 update on Thursday?
