Microsoft finally gives us another look at the campaign for Gears 5

With Gears 5 coming out this year, many of us expected a big preview of what’s to come during Microsoft’s E3 conference this year. Unfortunately, the presentation was kept low-key, with just one new multiplayer mode being shown on stage. Now, at Gamescom this week, we’ve finally had our next look at the Gears 5 campaign.

During the Opening Night Live presentation this week, The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson took to the stage to talk up the Gears 5 campaign and show a brand-new trailer, which you can see below:

The campaign is described as a two-sided story. The first major component is the Locust Horde returning to Sera and re-starting the war, while the second major point is a deeper exploration of Kait as a character, which makes sense given the events of Gears 4.

We don’t know how long the Gears 5 campaign will end up being but we don’t have long left to find out, as the game is launching on Xbox One, PC and Game Pass on the 6th of September.

KitGuru Says: Gears 5 is one of my most anticipated games of this year, so I’m quite excited. The trailer shows a lot of new environments that we’ve not really seen in a Gears game before, so it looks like plenty of new ideas are being explored for the series this time around. Are many of you planning on picking up Gears 5 next month?
