Meta has acquired several VR game studios and is bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming to Quest headsets

The Quest Pro wasn't the only major announcement to come out of Meta last night. The company has also invested in a new batch of gaming studios to build new content for Quest headsets. The company has also partnered with Microsoft to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to VR devices. 

As far as studios go, Meta has now acquired Armature, the studio best known for ReCore on Xbox One, as well as Twisted Pixel Games and Studio Camouflaj, which developed Iron Man VR for the PlayStation VR headset.

Aside from that, Xbox Cloud Gaming will eventually be made available on Quest VR headsets. This presumably includes the gaming-oriented Quest 2, in addition to the Quest Pro and future headsets.

There is no specified date on this yet, but this isn't the first time we've seen Microsoft and Meta partner on something like this. Prior to becoming Meta VR, Oculus had a partnership with Microsoft, which saw all original Oculus Rift headsets ship with an Xbox controller. Eventually, an app was released so you could stream games from your in-home Xbox console to your VR headset and play games on a virtual home theatre display.

Xbox Cloud Gaming will offer a similar experience to that, giving you a large virtual display to play Game Pass titles on, streamed from Microsoft's Xbox Series X powered servers.
