Mass Effect: Legendary Edition officially announced

Just as anticipated, BioWare today announced Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a remastered re-release of the original trilogy.

There is a short teaser trailer to go alongside the announcement, but the bulk of our new information comes from none other than Casey Hudson himself.

In a blog post, Hudson explained that the studio has “been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects and technical features of three enormous games”. This is not a remake or a reimagining, Hudson points out, instead this is intended as a way for players to experience “the original work in its best possible form”.

As you would expect, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition contains all three base games and all of their DLCs, in addition to remastered graphics. The game will release in ‘Spring 2021' for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
