Lone Echo 2 has been delayed but release still planned ‘later this year’

Back in April during the first Oculus games showcase, we got our latest look at Lone Echo 2, as well as an August release date for the highly anticipated VR title. Unfortunately, the game won't be ready this month after all, with the developers pushing it back to ‘later this year'.

Ready at Dawn released the original Lone Echo back in 2017 and it is still one of the best VR-exclusives available today. The sequel, Lone Echo 2, was initially going to release on the 24th of August, but has now been pushed back to “later this year”.

In a blog post, Ready at Dawn explained the delay, saying: “We have been working hard to deliver the very best experience possible and we are eager to have you join Liv and Jack in their adventures once again. However, as we get closer to launch day, it has become clear that we needed a bit more time to polish and reach our desired quality level.”

Lone Echo 2 was first announced in 2018, so Ready at Dawn has been working on this sequel for quite some time. A publishing deal with Oculus will see the game release on the Oculus Store and not Steam, although non-Oculus PC VR headset owners should still be able to play the game.

Lone Echo 2 does not have a new release date at this time, but it is still planned to ship before the end of 2021. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: It is rare to see a game delayed so close to launch, but as always, a delayed game is better than a rushed one.
