Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning announced

Back in 2018, THQ Nordic announced that it had purchased the rights to the Kingdoms of Amalur IP, immediately prompting rumours of a remaster of the 2012 Action-RPG. Nothing was announced at the time, as potential issues needed to be ironed out with the original game's publisher, EA. That changed this week, with Kingdoms of Amalur:  Re-Reckoning becoming official.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is another cult-classic coming from THQ Nordic, the same publisher behind Darksiders: Warmastered and Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition.

In the screenshots above, you can see some of the remastered visuals. The game originally leaked via a Microsoft Store listing, similar to the recent Mafia: Definitive Edition Trilogy. THQ Nordic was swift to confirm the leak and the remaster's August 18th release date.

The main game is being remastered, in addition to all of the DLC. Kingdoms of Amalur was originally developed by 38 Studios and released in 2012 for last-gen consoles and several months later, the studio went bankrupt.

KitGuru Says: I didn't play the original Kingdoms of Amalur myself, so I'll be interested in checking out the remaster. Did many of you play this back in the day? Are you going to be picking up the remaster when it comes out?
