Kingdom Hearts coming to Switch, Sora is final DLC for Smash Bros. Ultimate

Today Sakurai graced our screens one last time to reveal the final DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Switch title has only gained popularity over the last two years with the addition of new fighters. To cap things off for this game, Sora will be joining the battle.

While Sora has been rumoured for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since its first year, it was starting to look like fans may not get their wish. However, today, Nintendo revealed Kingdom Hearts' main character as the final DLC fighter, wrapping up years of work on this game.

During the stream, Sakurai explained that when Super Smash Bros. released for the Wii U and 3DS, a Nintendo poll revealed that Sora was the most highly requested character. Bringing Sora to Smash Bros. Ultimate also required a lot of work.

During the stream, which you can view above, Sakurai went into detail on Sora's different outfits, which are taken from Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts III. Sora wields his key blade just as you would expect and is capable of pulling off multiple combo moves, but his true strength lies in mid-air combat, just as his name would suggest.

Not only is Sora coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but the Kingdom Hearts games are also releasing on Nintendo Switch, including the HD remasters for 1 & 2, the 2.8 Prologue, Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts 3, which will be playable via streaming, rather than a native release.
