Kingdom Hearts 4 has been announced

In a surprise announcement this weekend, Square Enix has officially revealed Kingdom Hearts 4. The new entry to the mainline series will see Sora return in an “epic new storyline titled the ‘Lost Master Arc'.

The announcement was made as part of the grand finale for the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary celebration. You can see the full video below, with Kingdom Hearts 4 being announced at 4:10 –

Square Enix's description for Kingdom Hearts 4 goes as follows: “Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the ‘Lost Master Arc'. Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series.”

“Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.”

Unfortunately, there is no release date at this time, and release platforms are also unconfirmed, but it will likely be coming to current gen consoles only, skipping over Xbox One and PS4.
