id Software job listings hint at new Quake and Doom games in development

While we've heard that id Software does have plenty of ideas for future DOOM games, the studio has said little about Quake in recent years. We did get a small remaster of Quake last year with some new maps created by Machine Games, and now, it looks like id Software might be gearing up to develop a brand new Quake.

There was an attempt to revive Quake several years ago with Quake Champions, but the free to play title did not take off. According to Zenimax job listings though, it sounds like a future Quake game is on the table.

New job listings on the Zenimax website note that hired developers will work on “iconic id Software properties like DOOM and Quake”.

The team at id Software has not said anything publicly about the future of Quake, but the studio continues to host QuakeCon each year, so perhaps we'll get a teaser at the next event.

KitGuru Says: The DOOM reboot has been id's main focus since 2015, but it might be time to give Quake a revisit. Would you like to see a new Quake game?
