Hogwarts Legacy apparently sold 256% better than expected

While Hogwarts Legacy was widely expected to sell well based on the strength of the Harry Potter IP, there was some concern due to a string of controversies involving JK Rowling, the author behind Harry Potter. The game ended up selling 12 million copies in its first two weeks, and now according to a WB marketing lead, the game actually performed over 250% better than expected.

According to the LinkedIn page of a WB Games marketing executive, Hogwarts Legacy sold 256% more than anticipated at launch, thoroughly outdoing the publisher's internal projections for the game. During the two week period, the game generated over $850 million USD in revenue.

While WB stated that it has ‘no plans' for Hogwarts Legacy DLC around launch, the game's success has likely changed that. The game's success also opens the door for potential sequels in the years ahead too.

While Hogwarts Legacy was a good game with solid action gameplay, there are areas for improvement. The game's RPG systems could be expanded in a sequel, allowing players to create more unique characters. The other obvious improvement would be the addition of Quidditch, which is not present in the game currently.
