Helldivers 2 will now launch on PC and PS5 in early 2024

Back in May during the PlayStation Showcase, one of the big reveals was none other than Helldivers 2. The reveal trailer was excellent, showcasing a new take on the gameplay. At the time, the game was expected to launch in 2023, but it has since slipped into 2024.

Helldivers 2 made another appearance last night during Sony's State of Play stream. A new gameplay trailer is now live and at the end, we get confirmation that the game will now release in 2024, but it will be landing early in the year.

Helldivers 2 is now planned to release on the 8th of February 2024. Developed by Arrowhead, the sequel transforms the game from a twin-stick shooter into a third-person shooter. The game is clearly taking some inspiration from the likes of Starship Troopers, with its mix of massive alien bugs, guns and humour sprinkled in.

When Helldivers 2 does launch, it will be releasing day-one on PC, as well as PS5. We still don't know if the game will feature crossplay, but we'll hopefully learn more about that closer to launch.

KitGuru Says: Helldivers 2 was one of my personal favourite announcements from the PlayStation Showcase earlier this year. However, with how crowded the end of this year is for game releases, the move into early 2024 is welcome.
