Hellblade 2 may return next week with new trailer

Microsoft has already confirmed plans to share some big news at The Game Awards next week but the big surprise may have just been spoiled. Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 has begun to appear in ratings board listings, indicating that a new trailer is on the way.

As spotted by Insider Gaming, Hellblade 2 has now been rated by the Australian Classification Board, receiving an 18+ rating. The first game, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice received a 15+ rating from the same board, so it would seem that Ninja Theory is dialling up the dark themes and imagery for the sequel – something that became obvious during the first gameplay reveal.

The sequel will see Senua taking on a tough journey through myth and torment in Viking-era Iceland, attempting to save those who have fallen to tyranny.

The Game Awards is due to kick off next week on the 7th of December, or the early hours of the 8th of December for those of us in the UK and Europe. Microsoft has already confirmed plans to make announcements at the event. Given that this is the same event Microsoft chose to first announce Hellblade 2, it seems fitting that the company would return this year with a new update.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is widely rumoured to be targeting a 2024 release date, so we can keep our fingers crossed for confirmation of that with a new trailer during The Game Awards.

KitGuru Says: Are you hoping for a new Hellblade 2 trailer at the TGAs next week? Are there any other upcoming titles you would like to get more details on?
