Halo: Reach PC ‘flight three’ extended for third week, new build update rolling out to testers

The most recent Halo: Reach flight test has been live on PC for two weeks now. The first extension was put in place to allow users to test a new patch, although that update took a bit longer than expected. As a result, the current PC test will be running for a third week, with a new pre-release build rolling out to testers now.

Halo: Reach PC ‘Flight Three' will now end on the 18th of November and will have another round of scheduled content for online matchmaking play sessions. This will give players a chance to test the new build, which fixes some prior known issues submitted by players. Most importantly though, this update removes the unlocked frame rate option from the game in an effort to further narrow down potential causes for mouse input issues. Testers of the build will now find the game locked to 60. This won't be a permanent change, but it will give the developers a chance to smooth over any known issues and investigate any other causes for input issues.

As part of the third week of testing, a new schedule is being put in place for online matchmaking sessions, although XP will no longer be granted for the duration of this flight. Sessions will still take place from 10AM to 1PM PT and 5PM to 9PM PT each day. Here in the UK, that means the first session each day will take place from 5PM to 8PM GMT and Midnight to 4AM GMT for the second session.

Here is the new schedule for the rest of the flight:

November 18, 10:00 AM PT – 1:00 PM PT

This will probably be the final extension for Flight Three, with a fourth test to come once variable frame rate and mouse input issues have been ironed out.
