Grounded, Valheim and Deathloop headline September Xbox Game Pass update

After a slow start to the month, Microsoft has now revealed the next batch of titles for Xbox Game Pass, which will fill out the final two weeks of September. This time around, Microsoft is packing a lot more punch, with Deathloop finally debuting on Xbox, and Obsidian's excellent survival game, Grounded, releasing in just one week.

Obsidian has been working on Grounded for a few years now. The game has been in early access and available via Game Pass for two years at this point, and during that time, Obsidian has transformed the Garden map with new biomes, mechanics, bug types and more. The Early Access version contained just 30 minutes or so of story content in order to keep spoilers to a minimum. It is a great opening for what is shaping up to be a very fun game to co-op with a few friends.

The full launch is coming on the 27th of September. The full release will be available on Game Pass for PC and console, and those who already have the game installed will just need to install the latest update to unlock all the new release version features and story campaign.

Here's the full list of titles heading to Xbox Game Pass over the next two weeks, including supported platforms and dates:

  • Deathloop (Cloud, PC and Xbox Series X/S) – Available Today
  • Hardspace: Shipbreaker (Cloud and Xbox Series X/S) – Available Today

KitGuru Says: I've been looking forward to Grounded since initially trying it out in 2020. Deathloop's long-awaited Xbox launch is a welcome addition to the roster too. For PC players, one of the biggest indie games in recent memory, Valheim, is now available so that is worth an install too.
