Gran Turismo might be the next PlayStation franchise to come to PC

The Gran Turismo series has been a staple for PlayStation over the decades. Now with Sony finally bringing its games over to PC, the Gran Turismo team is looking at bringing its iconic racing game to PCs for the first time.

Speaking with GTPlanet, Polyphony CEO, Kazunori Yamauchi, was asked if Gran Turismo would be considered for PC, to which he replied yes, but there are some caveats involved. If Polyphony does go ahead with a PC port, it would help Sony compete with Microsoft's Forza series, which also made the jump to being a multiplatform racing game a few years ago.

In the interview, Yamauchi explains that due to Gran Turismo being a “very finely tuned title”, it could be difficult to bring it over to PC and maintain a high level of optimisation. Whether or not the team wants to put the time into solving those technical challenges still remains to be seen.

If Gran Turismo did make the jump to PC, it could end up being very popular, particularly if it supports a wide range of peripherals, so those with multi-monitor racing sim setups can get the most out of the game.
