FromSoftware’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon seemingly on track for 2023 release

At The Game Awards last year, From Software announced its next big game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, a long-awaited return to the studio's mecha series, which has been on the back burner recently with FromSoft focusing on its Souls games and newer titles like Elden Ring. We didn't get a release date at the time, but recent developments suggest the game is close.

This week, Armored Core VI was rated in Korea. Typically when games are evaluated by ratings boards, they are in a state close to completion. For instance, Elden Ring released less than six months after securing its first rating.

Armored Core VI will be the 16th entry in the franchise and the first to release in well over a decade. Players will get to assemble and pilot their own Mechs, taking on massive enemies using fast-paced 3D movement and a mix of melee and ranged weapons.

The game is planned to release in 2023, but we don't have an exact date yet. Given that ratings are starting to come in, we should expect a late Q3 or Q4 release date.

KitGuru Says: FromSoftware is likely saving its release date announcement for one of the big events this summer, whether that ends up being Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest or Gamescom Opening Night Live events, or a platform holder-backed stream like PlayStation's State of Play, remains to be seen.
