Forspoken story DLC ‘In Tanta We Trust’ releasing in May

While Square Enix has already announced plans to shut down Luminous Productions and reassign employees to other internal studios under the publisher's umbrella, work on Forspoken hasn't ended just yet. There is a story DLC on the way first, which now has a May release date.

Forspoken's ‘In Tanta We Trust' DLC was announced before launch and will expand on the story. The DLC will be a ‘prequel' to the main game, taking place 25 years prior to the events of the main game and fleshing out some of the events mentioned. Specifically, players will be taken back to the Purge of the Rheddig, a battle that “devastated Athia and eventually drove the Tantas to madness”.

The DLC will be releasing on the 26th of May and could end up being the last piece of content we ever see for Forspoken. While Square Enix had high hopes for this new IP, the game launched to poor reception from critics and did not meet sales expectations.

Following the rough launch, Square Enix announced plans to ‘dissolve' Luminous Productions. Once this DLC has released, the studio will be closed down for good and employees will be reassigned to other projects.
