Final Fantasy 7 Remake might be heading to Steam, Crisis Core remake leaks

PlayStation's timed exclusivity on Final Fantasy 7 Remake ended last year, but Square Enix has been slow to bring the game to other platforms. Currently, the game is only available on the Epic Games Store, PS4 and PS5. According to recent leaks though, the game may finally head to Steam, and a multi-platform Crisis Core remake could be on the way too.

Twitter user ‘The Snitch' has gained quite a reputation recently. The leaker accurately revealed all of Sony's State of Play stream in early June, and also accurately leaked The Last of Us Part 1 for PS5 and PC, Persona games for Xbox and PC and Kojima's next game, Overdose. Now, just ahead of Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 anniversary stream, they have tweeted again:

The four coloured blocks used in the tweet indicate a multiplatform game announcement, covering PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC. The image itself implies that Crisis Core could be getting a remake. For those who don't know, Crisis Core is a prequel to Final Fantasy 7, starring a mix of new and returning characters.

Aside from a potential Crisis Core remake though, Square Enix also appears to be gearing up to bring Final Fantasy 7 Remake to more platforms. The game finally came to PC late last year as an Epic Games Store exclusive, and an increased £70 price tag. Now, updates to SteamDB seem to show that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will soon be coming to Steam as well.
