Fast & Furious Crossroads is being removed from sale next month

There was a lot of optimism around Fast & Furious Crossroads leading up to its release, in part due to the fact that the game was developed by Slightly Mad Studios, the company behind Project Cars. Unfortunately, the game didn't turn out great and was critically panned at release. Now, the licensed title is being removed from sale completely.

Two years on from release, Fast & Furious Crossroads will be removed from sale on all platforms, starting from the 29th of April 2022 at 3AM BST, as confirmed by Bandai Namco on the game's official website.

The note doesn't specifically say why the game is being removed from sale, but it is likely down to an expiring license, either for the Fast & Furious franchise itself, or for music in the game.

Slightly Mad Studios previously released Project Cars 1 & 2, before flirting with the idea of creating a new games console. Shortly after, the studio was acquired by Codemasters, which is now part of EA.

Anyone who purchased Fast & Furious Crossroads will still be able to download and install the game from their digital library on PlayStation, Xbox or PC. Disc copies of the game will also continue to work without issue.

KitGuru Says: Games being pulled from sale due to expiring licensing is unfortunately quite common. Did any of you play this back at launch? Are you thinking about grabbing it before it disappears from sale?
