Update: Just as Bethesda announced last week, Fallout 4's massive 58GB high-resolution texture pack is now available to download on PC. This is set to be a major graphical upgrade for the game but you will need a seriously high-end gaming PC to run it smoothly. You will also need a good chunk of extra hard drive space.
Here is the texture pack's official description: “Experience the wasteland like you've never seen it before with the Fallout 4 High-Resolution Texture Pack! From the blasted buildings of Lexington to the shores of Boston Harbor and beyond, every location is enhanced with ultra-deluxe detail.”

Original Story: While Bethesda might be all done cranking out season pass DLC for Fallout 4, the studio isn't quite finished with the game entirely. Next week, not only with there be a PS4 Pro upgrade for this game, but PC players will finally be able to download the high-resolution texture pack, requiring an additional 58GB of space and raising the game's system requirements significantly- to the point where it calls for an AMD GPU that doesn't exist yet.
Bethesda announced the high-resolution texture pack yesterday, including a single 4K screenshot of what to expect from the graphical upgrade, which you can see below.
Obviously, these higher resolution textures also require beefier hardware to keep the game running smoothly. Here are the recommended specs:
- Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit required).
- Intel Core i7-5820K or better.
- Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB or AMD Radeon RX 490 8GB.
- 8GB+ of RAM.
Obviously, the RX 490 doesn't actually exist yet and once that was pointed out to Bethesda, the studio edited its blog post to remove its mention. However, this wouldn't be the first time that mention of the RX 490 has appeared. In the past, this GPU has appeared on AMD's own website and there have been some rumours suggesting that the RX 490 could be a Vega-based graphics card, set for release in the first half of 2017.

Either way though, the system requirements for the high-resolution texture pack set the bar very high. Not only do you need an extra 58GB of space but you will also need a £600 graphics card to run it smoothly.
Those specs read as “We couldn’t be bothered to test it, just put high requirements down”

You have it wrong, Matzy was complaining about titles where the developers would show gameplay at early events like E3 etc, but then because they had to reduce textures a bit etc by release that it was a cardinal sin. It was all lies.
He complained about that, even when I told him that this is normal in development, an early gameplay video etc does not mean that is what you are going to get. Of course he complained more and cried like a little bitch.
