Everything announced during today’s Nintendo Direct Mini

Just as promised, today Nintendo aired a brand new Direct Mini stream, coming in at about eight minutes long and showcasing various third-party games coming to the Nintendo Switch. We weren't really expecting any exclusives news, but as it turns out, Shin Megami Tensei V did make an appearance.

You can view the full Nintendo Direct Mini in the video below, but we will also have a breakdown of all of the announcements in text form as well.

Our first announcement is the Season Pass for Cadence of Hyrule– a collaboration between the creators of Crypt of the Necro Dancer and Nintendo. This unique rythm-based adventure game is now getting three paid DLC packs, the first featuring new characters from the Zelda universe like Impa, Aria, Shadow Link, Shadow Zelda and Frederick. The second pack adds 39 new songs and given that this game is heavily focused on music and rythm timing, that is a very substantial expansion. Finally, Cadence of Hyrule is also getting ‘Symphony of the Mask', a new story expansion.

Rouge Company is coming to Nintendo Switch this year from Hi-Rez Studios, along with a new character to play as. This is an online, third-person multiplayer shooter, complete with cross-platform multiplayer and cross-save features.

Earlier this year, 2K Games announced that it would not be shipping a WWE 2K21 and would instead come out with a spin-off game. That spin-off is none other than WWE 2K Battlegrounds, an arcade fighter featuring WWE's biggest stars. As you may have anticipated, this game is also coming to the Nintendo Switch on the same day as other platforms- 18th September.

The final announcement of the day was certainly a big one. Atlus previously announced Shin Megami Tensei V for the Nintendo Switch back in 2017 but we have heard little about it since then. That changed today, with Shin Megami Tensei V finally getting a reveal trailer, as well as a release date. The game will be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch globally in 2021.

Of course, to tide us all over until that day, Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster is also coming to Nintendo Switch. That will be coming a little earlier in Spring 2021.

KitGuru Says: It was great to see Shin Megami Tensei V brought back into the spotlight today. Many of us have been clamouring for Persona 5 on Nintendo Switch, but Shin Megami Tensei V could very well make up for that game's absence. What did you all think of today's Direct Mini?
