EA and Koei Tecmo to reveal Monster Hunter rival ‘Wild Hearts’

Earlier this month, EA announced a partnership with Koei Tecmo and Omega Force to produce a new Monster Hunting game to rival Capcom's Monster Hunter series. The company promised more information soon, but the Tokyo Game Show came and went without an announcement. That will change this week, when ‘Wild Hearts' will officially be revealed to the world.

As spotted by Nibel, the Wild Hearts YouTube channel has now been set up and a live stream is scheduled for the 28th of September at 3PM. The description confirms that this will be the upcoming game developed by Omega Force and published by EA:

The game is primed to deliver “an epic adventure set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan”. The premier will showcase the game's reveal trailer, which will hopefully include some gameplay and possibly a release window.

With EA's help, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force hope that Wild Hearts will expand to reach a global audience. Previously, Omega Force was primarily known for the Warriors games, all of which feature massive wave battles featuring hundreds of enemies on the battlefield at once, so Wild Hearts will be a very different kind of game for the studio.

KitGuru Says: I love Monster Hunter but I'm very interested in seeing what another Japanese studio can produce with a similar concept. Will you be checking out the Wild Hearts trailer later this week?
