EA and DICE officially announce Battlefield 2042

Just as promised, today EA and DICE officially unveiled the next Battlefield. Known as Battlefield 2042, this time around players will be sent to a near-future setting to engage in all-out warfare.

Speaking on the new game, DICE GM, Oskar Gabrielson, said that this game is intended to bring together everything players love about Battlefield, meaning we can expect “the ultimate Battlefield sandbox with intense combat and a ton of incredible, unexpected events”. As you can probably tell from the quote, ‘Leveloution' is back, so expect maps with multiple changes over the course of long matches.

The trailer above gives us our first look at Battlefield 2042, although we'll be seeing more of the game in the weeks and months to come. On PC, 128-tick servers will be available, giving the most responsive multiplayer experience possible and for the first time, these high-tick servers will also be accessible on console, although it is limited to the Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Battlefield 2042 is releasing on the 22nd of October for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.

KitGuru Says: This Battlefield trailer was incredibly hyped up, so its great to finally see it. What did you all think of today's Battlefield 2042 reveal? Will you be picking this up later in the year?
