E3 is returning in June 2023, will have separate ‘industry’ and ‘public’ days

The ESA ultimately scrapped E3 for 2022, but did announce plans to bring the show back in 2023 as a full, physical event, with additional streamed content. Now this week, the ESA has announced that E3 is scheduled for June 13th to the 16th.

In recent years, E3 has scaled back on its industry and media focus to cater more towards general gaming fans that they can sell tickets to. With E3 2023, the ESA  (via Brian Crecente) will have scheduled ‘business' days again, taking place on the 13th to the 15th. The public will be able to visit the show floor and check out the booths from June 15th to the 16th.

This will enable publishers to have private meetings and showings of various games separately to the public days. There will also be separate areas for industry folks and those attending on a public ticket.

As usual, there will still be streams alongside the physical event, and E3 will have ‘partnered digital events and showcases' starting on June 11th. This likely means that Xbox will once again have a big presence at E3 next year. Nintendo will likely support the event in some way too. Publishers like EA, Square Enix and Ubisoft are also good contenders for this category.

KitGuru Says: It sounds like E3 is going to do a better job of separating the ‘industry' and ‘public' experiences for the show next year, which hasn't been the case for a while.

KitGuru Games: The Genius Casting of Kaitlyn Dever in HBO’s The Last of Us

Following an explosive and highly popular first series, HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is almost upon us. Set to premiere on the 13th of April, the sequel season based on Naughty Dog’s controversial Part II is likely to spark up even more discourse than the first. Unlike 2020’s masterpiece however, HBO’s adaptation has made one key decision which – if handled well – could not only serve to build upon the theming of the game itself, but also function as a different way to tell the same message. That being the casting of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.
