Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s first $70 game but UK gamers catch a break

While most other publishers have made the jump to the $70 starting price for new games, Capcom has managed to avoid it for a while. However, that will be changing next year with the launch of Dragon's Dogma 2, which will be Capcom's first title to launch at $69.99 in the US, however, PC players in the UK will get a bit of a break here.

On PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam in the US, Dragon's Dogma 2 will cost $69.99. While this typically means a £64.99 or higher price tag for those in the UK, we appear to be catching a break for a change, especially on PC. Here in the UK, the Steam version of the game will cost £53.98 instead, which is actually a little under the current exchange rate. At the time of writing, $70 USD works out to just over £55 GBP, without accounting for any VAT.

The game's Deluxe Edition, which includes a handful of useful items to help kickstart your progress in the early game, is naturally more expensive. In the US, this will cost $79.99 across PC and consoles. In the UK, we're looking at a £69.99 price tag on console, or £65.98 on PC.

Considering how much game prices have risen and how the price conversion often works out for those of us in the UK, this is a fairly nice change of pace.

KitGuru Says: Part of me does wonder if the Steam prices for the game will be adjusted eventually, as it doesn't seem to have been worked out entirely correctly. If you are planning on getting this game on day-one, it might be worth putting in a pre-order on Steam ahead of time – you can always refund the game afterwards as long as you don't play for more than two hours.
