Dr Disrespect sets up his own video game studio ‘Midnight Society’

Guy Beahm, better known as Dr Disrespect, has a long history with the gaming industry, having previous experience as a map designer before launching his streaming career. Now, Beahm is taking on a more active role in the industry, setting up a new games studio called Midnight Society.

Beahm will be joined by Robert Bowling as Studio Head and Quinn DelHoyo as Creative Director. Together, the trio will be growing Midnight Society into a full studio and will work on Triple A projects. Bowling and DelHoyo both have prior experience in the industry as well, with the former having worked at Infinity Ward and the latter coming over from 343 Industries.

Midnight Society is co-founded by Sumit Gupta, who previously founded the esports platform ‘BoomTV'. As you would expect from this group, Midnight Society will be making a PvP multiplayer game, utilising Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5.

The studio's main goal is to embrace the ‘Day Zero Community', indicating players will be brought in early to see in-progress content and provide feedback throughout development of the game. You can also expect to see other big-name streamers playing the game once it is ready for launch.

KitGuru Says: Dr Disrespect has often critiqued and offered feedback on games he actively plays on stream. Now, we'll have the opportunity to see what his ideal competitive shooter would look and play like. There's no word on when we can expect to see Midnight Society's first game in action, but hopefully we'll have more updates in 2022.
