Diablo 4 is now available on Steam – it’s Steam Deck certified too

Earlier this year, Blizzard announced plans to bring its games over to Steam for the first time, starting off with Overwatch 2. Now today with the launch of Diablo IV's second season, the game is also becoming available on Steam and better yet, it is now officially Steam Deck certified too.

You could already play Diablo IV on a Steam Deck but getting it running took some additional configuration. Now with the Steam version, you will no longer have to jump through hoops, you'll just need to download the game on Steam and then Valve's magic Proton tech will do the rest of the heavy lifting.

When Overwatch 2 came to Steam, the Store page was immediately flooded with negative reviews. While Diablo IV's reputation isn't exactly sparkling amongst gamers, it has been better received than Overwatch 2 overall, so it will be interesting to see where the user reviews lead.

This all takes place today with the launch of Diablo IV's second season, which goes live at 6PM BST. The new season brings a new seasonal quest line focusing on vampires, offering players the chance to test out new blood-based abilities to give them a boost over the course of the season. The game will also get five new bosses to take down, each with a higher chance of dropping unique items, making farming for specific gear easier than before. As someone who played about 200 hours last season on a Druid without ever once seeing Tempest Roar drop, I am relieved to see Blizzard finally offering a way to get gear more reliably – now we'll just have to wait and see what the drop rates are actually like and if they are satisfactory.

KitGuru Says: I'm cautiously optimistic about Diablo IV's second season. While I did enjoy most of my time in Season 1, the grind did start to become tedious around level 80. With new balance adjustments and gear farming methods in place, I do hope that the late-game grind will be a bit more bearable.
