Dead Cells gets long-awaited ‘The End is Near’ update

After months of waiting, the teams at Motion Twin and Evil Empire have finally wrapped up work on the final update for their roguelite hit, Dead Cells. The End is Near Update, otherwise known as Update 35, is the final update for the game, and it is quite the send-off. 

This 35th update is not just a farewell; it's a treasure trove of new content for the players. It introduces a trio of new mobs, fresh mutations, and weapons that promise to revitalize the gameplay experience. Players can discover new legendary aspects for their gear, choose between 40 new heads as part of character customisation, and challenge themselves through the new ‘Cursed Biomes' mechanic.

One of the most exciting features of this update is the introduction of ‘Cursed Biomes'. These are specially designed levels that pose a greater challenge with tougher enemies but also offer higher tier rewards upon completion. For players looking for an edge during their run, braving these Cursed Biomes could be the key to a significant power boost.

The release of this update is bittersweet, as it also signifies a parting of ways for the studios behind Dead Cells. Motion Twin and Evil Empire have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the community for its support over the past five years. Moving forward, both studios will be focusing on new projects, with Evil Empire developing ‘The Rogue: Prince of Persia' and Motion Twin working on a new roguelite titled ‘Windblown',
