Dead by Daylight is getting a single-player spin-off from the studio behind Until Dawn

Dead by Daylight has had quite the month. Not only have the next two DLCs been announced, with one of them starring none other than Nicolas Cage, but a new single-player game based on the Dead by Daylight universe has also been announced, and it is being developed by one of our favourite horror studios.

Supermassive Games made a name for itself with Until Dawn during the PS4 generation and has since expanded on that with the Dark Pictures Anthology of games, and a spiritual successor to Until Dawn, known as The Quarry. Now, Supermassive is teaming up with Behaviour Interactive for its next project, which will be a new single-player Dead by Daylight game.

Dead by Daylight is a very popular asymmetrical horror game where one player takes on the role of a killer, and four players as ‘survivors' looking to escape. The game has only grown over the years, with many licensed DLCs, including crossovers with franchises like SAW, Resident Evil, Stranger Things, Scream and many more. The game also features a set of original characters and has its own lore and story, revolving around The Entity, an evil force with a penchant for entrapment and torture.

Supermassive Games is now working on a single-player spin-off, but we know very little about it at this time, so expect more news on that later down the line. Aside from this spin-off, Midwinter Entertainment is also working on a Dead by Daylight spin-off game, which will be PvE, focusing on co-op gameplay and exploring more of ‘The Entity's' realm.

KitGuru Says: There are plenty of asymmetrical horror games out there nowadays but Dead by Daylight continues to be the most successful.
