Cyberpunk 2077 gets new trailer, gameplay and an anime series announcement

The very first episode of CD Projekt Red's ‘Night City Wire' aired today, delivering us a brand new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, a deep dive into the ‘Brain Dance' mechanic and even a Netflix series announcement.

The new trailer features new footage primarily focusing on Night City, a few important characters and some of the action that is waiting for us in the final game. The trailer, titled ‘The Gig' can be watched below:

If you watched the full Night City Wire episode, which you can find HERE, you will have also seen some additional gameplay. This section exclusively focused on ‘Brain Dance', a mechanic in which you enter the mind of an NPC and can watch events unfold from their perspective, or use free camera to investigate the scene closer. It is like an advanced version of Detective Mode in the Arkham games, with a bit more depth added in.

Finally, CD Projekt Red, Netflix and Japanese animation studio ‘Trigger' are collaborating on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime series coming in 2022 and focusing on new characters living in Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing on November 19th for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and next-gen consoles. The game will also be coming to the Google Stadia platform at an unannounced date.

KitGuru Says: I'm not sure Brain Dance was the best mechanic to focus on for this first episode, but it does seem like a cool feature. We don't know when the next episode of Night City Wire is coming, but CD Projekt Red still has plenty more up its sleeve.
