Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is finally heading to Steam

After starting off as a console exclusive, Activision brought Crash Bandicoot 4 to PC in 2021. At that time, Activision was still avoiding Steam, choosing to stick to Blizzard's own Battle.net launcher instead. With the Microsoft acquisition looming, that is starting to change, and Activision games are finally returning to Steam, starting with Crash Bandicoot 4.

As part of a promotional effort for upcoming Crash Bandicoot-related announcements, Activision has been sending out promotional items to influencers and the press to get the word out. One such item is a Crash-themed pizza box, which confirms that Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, will be launching on Steam on the 18th of October. Later this month, Activision's flagship franchise, Call of Duty, will also return to Steam with the launch of Modern Warfare II.

The press kit also hints at an announcement coming on the 8th of December, the same day that The Game Awards goes live, indicating we'll get a new Crash-related reveal during the show.

It has been rumoured for some time that Activision is working on another project called ‘Wumpa League', but it was thought to be on hold after Activision shifted its internal resources around to give Call of Duty and Blizzard franchises a boost in manpower. At some point over the last year, it looks like development may have picked up again.

KitGuru Says: Crash Bandicoot gained some real momentum last-gen with the fantastic trilogy remake, followed up by Crash 4, the first new Crash Bandicoot game in a long, long time. Hopefully whatever comes next is equally impressive.
