CD Projekt and Capcom collaborate for Witcher and Monster Hunter World crossover

Capcom has had a great year, in large part thanks to the ongoing success of Monster Hunter World, which has kept players coming back thanks to special events, new hunts and crossovers. Monster Hunter World's last crossover saw us taking on the Rathalos from Final Fantasy XIV. Now this time around, Monster Hunter World will be crossing over with The Witcher.

In a special announcement made today, Capcom and CD Projekt Red announced their collaboration between The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Monster Hunter: World. Given that monster hunting is a large part of The Witcher 3, this seems like a perfect match. You can see the trailer for the crossover event below:

During this special event, players will take on the role of Geralt in order to take on a series of Witcher-inspired quests. There are some surprises in store, as Capcom has teased that these quests will blend RPG mechanics from The Witcher 3 with Monster Hunter: World's own gameplay systems.

Promisingly, we are told that while playing as Geralt, we'll be able to utilise his familiar fighting style, combining master swordsmanship with magic and various hunting tools. Beyond that, Doug Cockle will be returning to voice Geralt of Rivia once again.

This crossover event will land on the Xbox One and PS4 in early 2019, with the PC version set to follow shortly afterwards.

KitGuru Says: Capcom has been doing a great job with Monster Hunter World and its various crossover events. As a huge fan of The Witcher, this is the one I am most excited to check out myself. Are many of you still playing Monster Hunter: World? Will you be diving back in for this?
