Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta to begin in September

Previous leaks via Amazon pointed to an August start date for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta. However, it would appear that the beta has been pushed back a bit closer to the game's October release date.

According to Call of Duty leaker, Ralph Valve, Activision is planning to begin opening up for beta tests in mid September. Due to the publisher's on-going contract with Sony, PS4 and PS5 pre-order customers will get early access to the beta starting on September 15th. Then, all PlayStation players will have the chance to play from September 17th to the 19th.

Then, starting on September 22nd, there will be a cross-network beta, which will be available to pre-order customers on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Finally, from the 24th of September to the 26th, there will be a fully open beta on all platforms.

That will leave Infinity Ward with just one month to analyse feedback and implement any last-minute changes before Modern Warfare 2's October 28th launch date.
