Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leaks via Doritos double XP campaign

Activision has yet to announce this year's Call of Duty, making this the longest wait between new game announcements since the franchise turned to annual releases back in 2005. While Activision is keeping quiet on what's coming this year, leakers and promotional partners are not.

Each year, Call of Duty lines up promotional partnerships with energy drink and other snack vendors, often including Double XP codes on packaging. This year, a campaign with Doritos is lined up for ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War', confirming the title for this year's game:

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is going to be this year's game. Meanwhile, the campaign for Doritos Double XP is set to run from the 5th of October until the 31st of January 2021. With that in mind, it would appear that the next Call of Duty is set to release in October, although it is unclear if delays could take place in order to wait for next-generation consoles in November.

Usually, Activision teases yearly Call of Duty instalments in May, with a big announcement following in June and more gameplay shown in July. This year, official channels have been silent during this period. However, with leaks like this coming through, the official unveiling can't be far off.

KitGuru Says: Modern Warfare is such a big hit that it is almost a shame that it will be left behind in just a few months. Are any of you interested in this year's Call of Duty, or will you be sticking to Modern Warfare?
