Blizzard needs to make some changes to The War Within’s pre-patch event

Earlier this month, World of Warcraft's big expansion pre-patch for The War Within went live, bringing with it a new in-game event and several major system updates that transform certain aspects of the game. However, players have been having some issues with the way Blizzard has things set up.

The pre-patch for World of Warcraft: The War Within is available to all players, not just those who have pre-ordered the expansion, and includes a number of major updates. The expansion's Warband system, transmog improvements and updates to flying mounts, bringing the Dragonriding system to a much wider range of mounts.

On the content side, the pre-patch includes one major addition, the Radiant Echoes event, which gives players a chance to go up against a range of bosses in different zones in order to obtain limited-time mounts, new catch-up gear to aid in your levelling process, cosmetics and more.

However, with these events running with long 90-minute timers between them, players are expressing frustration with the grind. This is something that Blizzard's Diablo team had to learn with aspects of Diablo 4, leading to major changes to the endgame. Now, players are facing similar time-gate frustrations with this event in WoW.

Players hope that Blizzard will improve drop rates for sought-after items in these events and perhaps even shorten the timer between new events popping up.

We'll have to wait and see how Blizzard responds, but it will need to do so quickly, as The War Within launch is just around the corner too.
