Biomutant finally has a release date

Biomutant has been in the works for a number of years now and while it has seemingly come close to release a few times, delays have kept pushing it back. That changes this year though, as Biomutant is set to finally release in the first half of this year.

Today, THQ Nordic announced that Biomutant will be releasing for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on the 25th of May. Unfortunately, next-gen versions of the game were not mentioned, but Biomutant will be playable on both Xbox Series X/S and PS5 via backwards compatibility mode.

Biomutant is a new IP coming from Experiment 101. The studio has revealed little about the story, but there will be ‘choices' in some form during gameplay, which are said to impact the way things play out later on. This all plays into the game's karma system, so there will at least be one good and one bad ending.

As we've seen in demos and previews, this is a big open-world game complete with a skill tree and crafting mechanics. Combat is flashy, similar to a spectacle fighter, but you won't just be battling it out with melee weapons, you also get ‘Psy' abilities, like telekinesis.

KitGuru Says: Biomutant has been floating around for a long time now. Hopefully all of that hard development work pays off in the final release. Will many of you be picking this up in May?
