Bethesda’s Deathloop could come to Xbox after September 2022

Last week during a State of Play showcase, Sony focused on Deathloop, one of two upcoming PlayStation exclusives from Bethesda. The interesting thing is that now, Microsoft owns Bethesda, opening the door for this game to eventually come to Xbox, although that won't be happening until after September 2022.

At the end of the latest gameplay trailer for Deathloop, Sony added a disclaimer, stating that the game will be a PS5 console exclusive until the 14th of September 2022. The game will also be available on PC at launch, but other consoles like Xbox won't get the game until after that date.

Of course, as we've seen with Final Fantasy VII Remake, just because an exclusivity period ends, it doesn't always mean the game will come to other platforms straight away. Bringing the game over to Xbox and naturally, Xbox Game Pass, could take a number of months and due to the contract in place, an Xbox version can't be announced until after the exclusivity period ends.

Deathloop is one of two new games coming up from Arkane Studios. Deathloop, releasing this year, takes inspiration from Dishonored and seems to be a roguelike of sorts, where you are an assassin being hunted by other assassins. You are expected to die, revive, fight and die again, thus the name, Deathloop. The game will be releasing on PS5 and PC on the 14th of September 2021. In 2022, Arkane's second project, Redfall, will be releasing for Xbox and PC.

KitGuru Says: We've seen Deathloop a number of times at this point and with a release date not too far off, we'll be seeing plenty more in the next two months. Are any of you planning on picking this up at release?
